REI or Recreational Equipment Inc, an American company, deals in selling sporting goods and outdoor recreation gear. This is primarily done through their online stores, catalogs and the 100 stores that they have in 27 states.

REI owes its inception to Lloyd and Mary Anderson who founded the company in 1938. REI has in fact been venturing into other outdoor related activities as well. This can be seen by the opening of the REI Adventures and the recent one of REI Outdoor School.
